Notice Statistique Sur Ces Produits.
Paris: C. Ballard, 1819. The Paris Industrial Exposition of 1819 was the fifth such exhibition held in France, and the first to be held in 13 years. It attracted 1622 exhibitors who displayed the latest advances and fashions in textiles, leather goods, paper, printing type, metallurgy, hardware, weapons, clocks, scientific instruments, furniture, chemicals, porcelain, crystal, jewelry, lighting fixtures, food stuffs, tapestries and machinery. Each separate French départment was required to nominate a jury to select exhibitors from its region, and by far the largest and most important of these - with over 500 exhibitors - was the Department of the Seine (which included Paris). Héricart de Thury's jury report for this group presents a catalogue of all these exhibitors including descriptions and commentary on their products and other useful details on their activities. Rare; OCLC locates only two copies (NYPL and Nat. Library of Australia). 8vo (19.8 x 12.5 cm); (ii) + xxviii + 348 pp. (+ 1 pp. errata). Later quarter leather with marbled boards, a bit scuffed; half-title removed. $800.00
