         Last and most complete edition of this popular French pattern book for garden design, structures and ornament which passed through many revised and expanded editions. It first appeared in 1818 as a small manual with a text written by Guiol and was subsequently revised and enlarged by Pierre Boitard. The present edition, updated by Audot, with its several hundred illustrations and lengthy general text, offers an excellent overview of French garden design and practice at the middle of the nineteenth century.
