Hinck & Wall - Specialists In Garden History
(Furniture Pattern Book)   MEUBLES, SIEGES, TENTURES.         Paris: J.-Justin Storck,   1891.
A fascinating encyclopedic catalogue of furniture designs published, at least partly, for use as a sample book for furniture and cabinet makers as well as decorators. 2188 individual items are depicted on 137 lithographed plates. A printed index organizes the plates into six categories: 1. Meubles Ordinaires, 2. Compositions De Pièces, 3. Meubles Fantasie, 4. Sièges, 5. Tentures et Ornements, and 6. Meubles de Cuisine et en Fer. The front cover of the present copy is embossed with the words "Au Vieux Chêne / Ameublements Complets / A. Perrotey/ Baccarat." Perrottey, whose rubber stamp also appears on most of the plates, was a cabinet maker and wood worker who clearly used the volume as a sample book to show to clients ordering custom-made furniture.   Folio (35.5 x 28.3 cm); title printed in red and black + frontispiece + 137 lithographed plates bound on stubs + 7 pp. text.
Contemporary embossed cloth, spine chipped and frayed; covers soiled; ink rubber stamp on several plates.
